Cruise Wear

A cruise is a wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy yourself. However, it is always useful to be aware of the dress code that may apply on your chosen ship.

At L'Etoile Evening Wear, we understand how this can be confusing and our staff can always advise accordingly. The following is a very brief guide.

There are usually three evening dress codes on board ship and some cruise lines are more formal than others:

  • Formal/Gala Nights - This means "black tie". Gentlemen should wear Dinner Jackets, or tuxedos as they are sometimes called, and the Ladies long evening or cocktail dresses.
  • Informal - Gentlemen should wear a jacket and tie and the Ladies wear cocktail dresses.
  •  Casual - Just as it says, casual means that almost anything goes, though probably not shorts for dinner !

The Ship's news board will tell you what the style for the evening will be and some cruise lines will also have theme nights, such as:

  • A Masked Ball
  • A Twenties Night
  • A Fancy Dress Night

We know that the Masked Ball is very popular with many of the cruise lines and so we always try to keep a good selection of:

  • Venetian Masks

For more information, including a brief history of these wonderful masks, visit the dedicated page for Venetian Masks.

And remember, we take great care to source our selection in order to offer a choice of very individual masks.

Finally, you will always find our staff are both knowledgeable and dedicated to making sure your outfit for any event comes together as smoothly as possible with minimum effort.
